Jenifer DickJenifer Dick

Jenifer Dick started with cross stitch, but soon grew tired of following someone else's patterns and colorways. Quilting offered her the freedom to choose her own colors and patterns, "which I find very soul-satisfying," she says. She calls her style Contemporary Traditional. She likes taking traditional blocks and putting them in fresh settings with contemporary fabrics.

Jenifer has won several quilting awards and recently had the quilt "Eggplant and Okra" from her book Grapefruit Juice and Sugar juried into the AQS show in Paducah, Ky. She is a member of Log Cabin Quilters Club of Harrisonville, Mo., Raymore Quilt Guild of Raymore, Mo., Blue Valley Quilt Guild of Overland Park, Ks., and the American Quilter's Society.

Jenifer wrote Grapefruit Juice and Sugar: Bold Quilts Inspired by Grandmother's Legacy for The Kansas City Star. She lives in Harrisonville, Mo. with her husband and three children.
